    Hey guys!

Do you think it's still worth it learn and improve skills with Java as Android Development language or should I start learning Swift language?
I am a little bit confused because I recently had an ideia to start a course and spend some money on it and now I don't know what to do.

Thanks and have a good day!

That is a tough question to answer, as the vote is out right now...

but, with Google making the announcement that they are leaving Java because of a lawsuit with Oracle, I think that spells the end of Java for "the only thing to use" by developers.

One thing is for sure, all the newer phones will be easier to use with Swift, and the APIs are going to be tailored in that direction.

I am from Portugal and after I take a Android course I need to graduate on object oriented programming and the price of it including both courses is 1845 euros. It is expensive I know, that's why I want to be sure what to choose

Teach yourself, will be cheaper. I taught myself Chinese, and didn't take any courses. Although in a classroom, IMO I'm a good teacher, but an awful student.

How different is Java to Swift, and what is your current level of expertise? I understand from Wikipedia, Swift is like Objective C or something. I know about learning and teaching foreign languages, not programming, apart from some BASIC on a Commodore C64 30 years ago! :D

That depends on your intended target platform. Until Google confirm the replacement for Java you might be best waiting if Android is your focus.
