Help should the pebble charger switch its self off?

Hi all

I have had my pebble a week or so but not really used it much so far. The problem I am finding is that the pebble does not switch off after the desire is fully charged. I am guessing that it should?

The last time it charged my phone, I thought it had switched its self off but it had run out of juice. I recharged it but it never fully charged; it was still flashing after over 3 hours so I disconnected it.

Any advice from existing users would be great.

I have several mobile charger (but no Pebble )

No charger automatically shut off after my phone is fully charged.
Does no harm

EDIT: the battery is about 3x bigger as the battery of the Desire.
So is the charging time. 6 to 8 hours are right
