Help SideSync DirectX error

I'm getting an error when I plug in my phone to USB to use SideSync that:

"Running SideSync was interrupted becuae the DirectX initialization failed."
Install DirectX, then run SideSync again."

DirectX was installed when I installed SideSync & I've updated to the latest version. This is a brand new machine, only had it a week.

Anyone else experienced this issue?

Same error. Got all Windows Updates in my 8.0 desktop, including optional updates. Still have problem.
