Root Sim network unlock PIN (Incorrect Password)

Hello Everyone,

I've rooted my Bell HTC Wildfire S today and everything worked out great. The [Guide] How to root the Wildfire S with S-ON (finally!) worked really well. I've already install SuperUser and Link2SD. Thank you CafeKampuchia.

I have 2x Bell HTC Wildfire S
1) Has been rooted and the Unlock SIM code did not work.
2) Stock and the Unlock SIM code has worked.


Here is what I see when I go into HBOOT (Device 1 / ROOTED).

I've purchased the unlock code from a website which has unlocked the second device - Bell HTC Wildfire S - and many other devices. Their stuff really works.


I don't see the SIMLOCK option when I check the second Bell HTC Wildfire S when I go HBOOT.

Do you guys know what is going on? What does the SIMLOCK means on HBOOT?

I am talking to HTC Customer service representative so sort this issue.

It looks like HTC will provide the unlock code within 48 hours.

Do you guys think that my phone is in some sort of "locked" because I root it?

First thing I did was to root the phone which has worked. Then I tried to unlock it using the unlock code provided by htcsimunlock . com.

ANy thoughts?

Well all guides say that you should unlock in htcdev website. I don't know what htcsimunlock is or what it does so maybe it did lock it somehow...
When rooting using htcdev to first unlock it, nothing happens to the sim.

Contact the carrier. Never pay for an unlock code. Its free information. Ur being had. [He means a sim unlock not a bootloader unlock, provided by the carrier, not htc]

Where I am currently living phones are not locked by the carriers. So that actually didn't come to my mind

That's my problem too. I've never had a Sim unlock issue.

HTC was able to get the unlock code for me. Everything is fine now.

Could somebody delete this thread?
