I have an unlocked phone with a pay as you go plan on the 3 network, I have had it for about 2 years now without any faults and now it is saying "no service" in the notification bar and does not seem to be picking up the sim card at all, i have tried my sim in a few other phones and it works fine but i still get the same error with a different sim in my phone, i have bot modified the system in any way, i have tried turning on and off and even a factory reset and i still get the same error, any ideas on how to fix this?

Check under Settings/Wireless & networks/Mobile networks that the correct APN settings are configured; if these are wrong/missing it will prevent connection to the H3G network.
While in the Settings menu, also check in About phone that the IEMI is displayed.
