Help Sim reading issues grr

Here's the deal - Purchased m919 used. Started resetting due to not being able to read sim card. So I replaced the reader and it doesn't seem to be doing it as often, but still doing it. Has done it twice in the 8 hours I've had it fixed. The fact that it's still doing it or has done it, rather, is troublesome.


My question - what can be done to solve this issue permanently? If it's not a hardware issue, could it be a clashing software of some kind? My device is rooted but with no custom rom installed.

Have you done.....
Factory reset?
SD card format?
Check to see if the SD card meets recommended minimal requirements for the phone?

Some of the cheap cards that are sold may work on the S4 but the cards specs are so low that it ends up causing issues in the long run.
