    Hello

After losing her Bada phone, a friend bought a Samsung I9190 Galaxy S4 mini.

Since she didn't sync her data, she also lost all the phone numbers etc.

Is there an easy-to-use application to simply sync data between that phone and Windows?

I know about Outlook + MyPhoneExplorer, but I'd rather something that doesn't require buying Outlook.

    Thank you.

Samsung's own software suite KIES will do exactly that. It can be downloaded from Samsung's support site here.

You can also use MPE with Thunderbird (free) or use it 'stand alone'. That is, just use the MPE client on the PC to enter/backup your contacts/calendar.

.... and she will probably forget to sync her contacts again, unless she does this in a Google way.
Just tell her, that all her contacts, calendar data etc, can be stored in the cloud. No need to remember to synchronize.

To automatically create backups in the cloud every time a contact is added or edited - no manual effort required - simply have her save all contacts to her Google account. They can then be viewed and edited on the phone or on her PC via browser.

To make it even better...Install Thunderbird for email on the PC. Then install the extensions Zindus or gContactSync to automatically sync Google contacts with the Thunderbird address book.

Right, syncing directly to Google is a better idea. Thanks.
