So I got my hero, but no paid app in the android market appears. I'd like to make some purchases, but does someone know the reason of the unavailability? Google should make the market worldwide.

Mine is the country, I am not asking why it won't display to me, as I know Google is restricting some areas, but why won't Google make the market available worldwide?
That's all I'm asking, thanks for your reply.

Sorry, misunderstood.

I guess the short answer is, we don't know, none of us work for Google, and they're not exactly sharing that info.

If I had to speculate, I would imagine it's one or more of the following: Too busy to get to every country yet; Need to negotiate with foreign governments for access; Problems with cellphone carriers; who knows?

Don't take it personally. I'm in _Canada_ and we don't even have access to paid apps yet! (Too bad I can't drive across the border to buy them! ;-) )

Yes I am aware, but Google needs to do it fast, it'll profit of me a lot. Second, here in Lebanon, non of the carriers provide phones like in the US and Canada (carrier locked phones are not sold here)

Not quite really, if that's the issue, I shouldn't be allowed to make a google checkout account. I really need to make some purchases and stuff.

You could always trying to purchase apps from Slideme : SlideME | Android Community and Application Marketplace

It's a Market alternative for those who can not purchase apps for whatever reason. It even has something called SAM which you can put on your phone and browse all the apps available on Slideme like the Android Market.
