Simpleroot and Froyo...

I used Simpleroot and I'm running a rooted stock 2.1. I'm wondering what happens if I download and update to 2.2 using the HTC Software Update option on my phone. I assume I lose my Root which isn't a huge deal for me. I just don't want to end up with a brick.

Or am I just better waiting for a rooted stock 2.2 rom? And upgrade via the Rom Manager/ClockworkMod Recovery.
