Apps Simultaneous Wi-Fi connections

Scenario:

• I have a link between Android phone and a PC. It could be cellular, it could be Wi-Fi
• I want the phone to communicate with a nearby device using Wi-Fi Direct.

I think I can do this, but what happens to the PC link when the Wi-Fi direct session begins?

You will lose the other wifi connection when WiFi Direct starts, as the phone is only capable of connecting to a single device.
