A while back, I think on IK5 or something like that, I had a skin I installed as update.zip with Drakaz recovery (it had black titlebar etc.). I was wondering if I can do that with newer ROMs? I think I tried using the same "skin" (or whatever this is called) with JB2 and it froze the phone (had to reflash ROM).

So basically I am asking where to find more skins and how to install them on newest Galaxy ROM?

    Thanks!

The linked version should work with any Android 1.6 firmware (JB & JC firmwares) I believe. There are versions of both that were for Android 1.5 though.

theming is a process which wants root access and busybox if you have got drakaz recovery you may easily root your phones.

I pulled the busybox out of the Glaxo1.61 update zip and have been using that fine. But I have root and busybox and still can not use a theme without putting GLaxo on first.

It blows out on the setperf line for app_s

    So close...

OK added an app_s directory to /data/ partition. (Where it would be in Glaxo). It applies the theme, but the phone wont boot past the Samsung logo.

So in short, you want the themes, run the Glaxo update first.

I think in Galaxo the /data/app_s is actually a symlink to /system/app ?

    ...or vice versa

Yes It is just a way to move some apps out of the /system/ partition. The point is the

Themes do no work without a Glaxo rom.

Ill look at Metamorph now. As I realy just want a black notification bar.

    :)
