If like me you were able to use Skype over wifi no problem, but then had connection issues trying to use it over 3G, here's the solution.
Goto app store and download the app Tweakker. Install it and answer 3 simple questions. That's it problem fixed.
Tweakker changes your APN settings from wap to Internet. Now you can us Skype over 3G. I'm on Vodafone and it sorted me out.
Doesn't work with ics though....
