Can you elaborate? Is this indeed the case? I was planning on buying this app, as I have a Slingbox Solo. I went to their site, but didn't see anything regarding required minimum level of Slingbox...

I don't know what the "limited functionality" is in the android app, but when they came out with Slingplayer 2.0 for the PC they said the same thing. If I remember, the only thing I was missing while using my old box was something like sending stats to slingbox's servers to "improve my experience"..... It was never any kind of functionality loss.

I purchased the Slingplayer App to my Motorola Droid running JRummy’s Remix v0.7 Cyanmod 5.0.6.2 Build ESE81 Firmware Version 2.1-update 1 (rooted). After the install was complete I clicked on the slingplayer icon in my app drawer and the screen goes black for a quick second, then returns to the home page. Can anyone help me??? (BTW Installed the app on my wifes Droid ‘Bone stock 2.1-update 1, and it works GREAT!) If anyone can help me out or give me some ideas I’d appreciate it. I know there are people running Slingplayer on Rooted droids, and I would have to have to unroot my phone, but I gotta have Slingplayer so I can watch my proHD.
I uninstalled Slingplayer app. Rebooted phone, and reinstalled the app. I still can't get it to work at all (icon clicked, phone flashes for a second and then goes back to home screen). I initiated a text chat with Sling Media and was informed that they aren’t supporting rooted phone.

    Question?

Soon I am going to buy a new phone. I want to use the slingbox. I understand that there is a new app to use "slingmedia" on the EVO 4g and Driod X. However I am hoping to use the slingbox technology on the phone to hook up to another TV when traveling. However I have read that the HDMI port on the EVO 4g won't support this.

I have not heard anything in regard to wheter or not the Droid X will perform this feature.

Will the EVO 4g or Droid X allow you to watch streaming interent video or a "slingbox" on an HD TV?

I have read that if you "jail break" an iphone, it will perform this task. But I really would prefer to buy the EVO or Droid because it has other features I like better than the iphone.

I love NFL football. But sometimes when I am away on Sundays I miss my favorite games. I want to use the HTC phone/sling box to hook into another TV so I don't have to watch the game on a small screen.

    Please help.:)

Anyone else having problems with connecting to their slingbox? Mine worked like a charm all day yesterday, now I get connection failures. I wish it would be more consistent!

I just got the Droid X running 2.1 from Verizon and I don't see the Sling App in the Android Market. I tried Appbrain and found it there but it won't let me install. I need my Sling-any suggestions?

Should definitely be out there... According to this page, the Droid X is not officially supported yet...but it does encourage any one with an unsupported device to give it a try (or your money back)...

I've just moved from TMobile to Three and I cannot get my Slingbox to work over 3G, it works OK on T-Mobile and WiFi.

Do Three block ports? Is there a way to get it to work?

    Any help would be great.

Hey yf19 - I'm interested in doing this as well, it never occured to me! Can you change the Sirius channels by doing this? I can probably hook it up to my Fios box.
Actually - I wonder if you can hook up the Sirius receiver to the Slingbox directly with the remote functioning?
