bahaha epic. In europe they would just mow you over to your death. They don't put up with slow left lane drivers like we do.

btw SanAntoneRR - you don't put the youtube link in the image url area. You just put it in the text field. That is why the parameters are all screwed up :p

Wow, that is amazing haha, love it. Wish he would've just ticketed him. It's law that left lane is only for passing and you can get pulled over for blocking it, it's a shame it's almost never enforced.

Can't that cop get into trouble for doing that and also tailgating?

They can indeed get in trouble for using their lights when it's not an emergency. They can also get in trouble for the tailgating. Both things it'd be your word versus the cop's, which you will almost always lose. Unless the same cop gets reported a number of times, it won't affect him in anyway.

But if you get tailgated in the left lane by a cop, it's pretty easy to see what to do. Move. The Honda is lucky he didn't get a ticket for cruising in the passing lane. There really is a law saying if there's traffic behind you in the left lane you must move out the way. Even if there's no other car in sight, you can't cruise in the left lane legally. It's just rarely enforced.

That's on the freeway though. I've never heard of the fast lane as the "passing lane" on a freeway in LA. I thought it was just common courtesy to move to the right for a faster car in the fast lane. I must admit that I'll just stay in the left lane whenever I go to Indiana from CA and vice versa. I'm just so used to being in the left lane that I honestly forget to move to the right until I'm reminded.

I think that police officer can easily get into trouble since there's video evidence... unless it's police officer's word > video evidence.

Side note: What's odd is that I've only ever been pulled over in other states... once in TX for going 75 in a 70 (absolutely insane; thankfully only a warning since it was my very first and played the innocent Asian just driving to college to get sum learnin'!) and once in KS for not having a front license plate because my car is from CA (wth? CA cops don't give a crap about that)

It's a law, but it vary quite a lot from state to state. Courtesy of MIT State "keep right" laws there are only six states that have laws that say the left lane is ONLY for passing and turning left, but there are varying degrees of what is legal and what is not. I think it's something that is just rarely enforces, like turn signal laws.

It may not be "law" but it is one of the rules of the road. If someone is going faster than you, no matter the speed, you get the eff over and let them by. PERIOD. Common courtesy (or the lack thereof) on our roads today is staggering. No one seems to realize that there are other people on the roads with them. If you got in front of me in the left lane I would be flashing my lights and beeping at you until you moved over. I would not pass on the right. If you drive in the left lane, your trip to Europe is not going to be a fun experience when you drive. They will put you in jail for left laning there.

When Police, EMS or Fire vehicles are approaching from behind. Weather they're signaling or not, drivers are suppose to move to the right, and use the slower lanes and slow down.
True, the left lane is generally used by faster moving traffic, but, it's normal usage is considered for "through traffic".

Somethings more scary to me are those who don't understand the concepts of "Yield, &, Merge". These are the idiots that consistently use the merge lane, as a raceway, to try to get one car ahead. The driver in the through lane, does not have to yield, to that car in the merge lane.

"Construction site merge lane" area are another concern. When you see there is a merge ahead, don't run up to the edge, and, expect to get in. Instead try Merging early, to allow the traffic to flow at a normal pace. The only thing these drivers are gaining, is creating a bottleneck, slowing the rest of the traffic flow down to a crawl. And, temporally avoiding me from, ripping their arm off, and beating them to death with it, when I catch up to them.

And Floridiots, are about the worst.
My Christian charity only goes so far. you can use it, but, don't abuse it.

    thanks

I like how the 'politically-correct' crowd tries to label you as having 'road rage' for giving these IDIOTS a piece of your mind.
If the road is clear of other cars(and even not sometimes), I get in front of people like that and slow WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY down until they move over :)

Where I live, Vancouver, B.C., there are signs that tell drivers that slower vehicles should keep to the right most lane.

In Washington state, I know of people who got ticketed for driving in the left lane and are not passing a vehicle.

The laws vary depending on the jurisdiction.

If you were pulled over in Ks for not having a front plate... it was most likely because the trooper thought he'd like to spend some time visiting a Ca chick. We have no law requiring a front plate. That spot is reserved for tags reflecting support for your favorite team or gone fishing or my other car is a rolls etc. We do have a law in place requiring one to use the left most lane for passing purposes only. That is on all multi lane intra and interstate highways outside of metro areas. I've not seen it enforced.

The only thing upsetting about this to me is the cop is literally condoning speeding. It's pretty clear that this car wasn't going any slower than the speed limit (unless the rest of the traffic was also going slower). So what does this tell you? I know people who have been pulled over in the "fast lane" for going 75 on a 70mph highway.

But seriously.... I set my cruise control on the highway for 79 mph. A (very) close relative of mine is a state trooper and has told me that 95% of the time at that speed you will not get a ticket. I do like to drive faster than everyone else. I think I should be able to if I so choose. The point is not the speed limit, it is left lane hanging toolboxes. I don't care if I was going 100mph, and someone came up behind me I would get over and let them by. THAT IS HOW IT WORKS! Left lane is the PASSING LANE, not the other driving lane.

I'm not jumping on you lordofthereef, just trying to make a point ;)

I'd like to get a small plow on my car so I can tap people who won't move over. :)
