After booting phone says security error - this phone has been flashed with unathorized software and is locked.

Anyone know how to fix this? I tried using smart switch to reinstall stock firmware but the problem persists. Any help or suggestions are welcome.

You need to flash it with stock firmware using Odin.

I appreciate the repsonse . Yeah that was one of the first things i tried as well as using smart switch to do a firmware recovery. Issue still occurring.

As a second measure i decided id root, flash a custom recovery as well as a custom rom - still no cellular signal, data, etc. but that message is gone. I did notice that the imei listed under about phone and the *#06# menus is different than what is on the back of the phone ... super strange. I guess whoever was messing with the phone before i got it did something to alter the imei and a flash of some sort erased efs info...

Anyone have any thing else i can try other than sending it in for a repair?

Is it showing the correct baseband or is baseband unknown?

If the IMEI in the device info doesn't match with what's on the back of the phone. Then there's almost certainly something fooky being going on with it, like it might have been illegally cloned. And probably best avoided, as it could very well have been stolen.
