Hi all, 1st post on the forum. I dropped my phone today and the glass has well and truly smashed. Any ideas as to how much this is likely to cost to get repaired?

I've emailed HTC but i'm waiting for an answer.

I'm so annoyed with myself. :(

Sorry to hear that :-( Seriously, I did exactly the same thing last weekend after having the Desire for only 1 day! Not good.

My phone is on Orange and I have insurance, but they said that without the insurance the repair would have been around

It depends what's smashed. Theres two layers. There's the amoled screen. On top of that is the digitizer which is what makes your touch translate into an onscreen interaction.

Thanks for the info guys. I've contacted Orange who i'm with and HTC, so i'll see what they come back with. I'll report back with the replies.

Do any of you use a case for your phone? I have a sleve type which ironically i was putting it in when i dropped it? D'oh!
