smashed phone, insurance...

right

dropped my GS2 in the snow, found it few hours later... dead phone..

called the insurance... they are sending a package thing out...

now, its dried out i wanna get my stuff off it...
it does now turn on in an odd sorta way, the screen is also smashed.
if it works can i use till the new one comes? will i get in trouble for using it?
will they know im using it?

I doubt they're going to know or care whether you're using it before it's collected. If it boots up can you connect it to your PC via USB and copy stuff off that way?
