Sounds suspiciously like a runaway app ..
If you remember installing or updating any apps right before the problems started, start by uninstalling or disabling those apps.
Take a look at your battery usage (Settings .. Battery) to see which apps are using all the juice. Hopefully, your going to see one app that you can simply uninstall.
