    Hi,

I just had a freak problem on my Desire..

I had my phone in my pocket and was listening to music and when I went to look at the phone again, it asked me for my PIN.. I punched it in and wanted to send a SMS, but to my suprice all my old messages were gone!

I tried rebooting it, but no luck!

I was using the buildin SMS App and my phone isn't rooted..

Anyone know if there is a way of getting them back?

I remember it happening to me once on my Hero. I have always had Mybackup Pro, which backs up SMS'es and whatever else regularly, so I just ran the app and restored them.

I have never had this problem, ever, so I'm quite surprised. I am using Handscent SMS, and have been for about a month and it's never happened to me.

I'm not gloating, just letting you know. I wonder what you're doing that I'm not? Or vice versa?

Just thinking about this - do you keep all your messages?

I never have any more than about 5 or 6 threads (max 50 messages in each).

If you're one of those people that keeps every single message, could that have something to do with it?
