I see plenty of apps that will forward sms messages from one phone to another... but does anyone know of any that will do that PLUS let me reply from the 2nd phone and have it sent to the original sender's phone number? With the simple forwarding feature, if I reply ... it goes back to my Droid and not the sender of the text

You got me. I'd like to know of one as well. That is if there is one.

Its good to see someone asking for this feature - we just published an app that does this.

Take a look at PhoneLeash (www.tinyurl.com/phoneleashfree) on the Android Market. It does a number of things but in reponse to your question:

    - it forwards incoming SMS to your email
    - you can reply to this SMS (still in your email).
    - the reply goes back to your phone, and then goes out as a normal SMS from your phone

It's a lot easier than it sounds :)

PVS, thanks for the info. I'll give it a try. Do you know if it can forward to a Heywire number? I've tried two highly recommended forwarding apps that have difficulty with it.

To the OP: If this doesn't work out for you, try SMS Forward, which I believe handles replies the way you described.

When we put out the next pre-release beta of PhoneLeash with (among others) the features you need (fwd to Heywire, and option to delete incoming SMS) will you give it a try? I am at p v s /A-T/ gearandoid DOT SEE OH EM

I have the same feeling of deja vu. ;)

ABSOLUTELY! When the time comes, post back to either this thread or the other one to let me know,

Just uploaded latest version of PhoneLeash (www.tinyurl.com/phoneleashfree). You can now forward to a phone destination (as SMS) including HeyWire.
