sms help please?

I am fairly new to Android after having symbian phones for years.

The one thing I dislike most is the text message format of what i think is called 'conversations'

Is there a way to stop this and just have single texts as in Symbian or windows?
i.e just single texts. I would find this easier, as I cant differentiate between ones I have sent and received easily.

I have tried Handcent, but still the same. Is there possibly another app that would give me the what I consider 'normal' sms format?

Handcent shows different colours for in & out so easy to tell.

Otherwise there isn't a way

That's really disappointing because to me it gets confusing having 'conversations' much neater and simpler having single linear text.

Oh well, I guess there is not any apps available that would sort this?
