SMS issue

I just bought an unlock XT701 and use it in T-Mobile network. Phone works great (no 3G). However, I encounter issue with SMS. I could receive the very 1st SMS. If other party replies to my SMS, content of the message is empty. I always see an attachment along with SMS but don't know how to open it.
