Looks like they are getting a OTA update to 2.1. They have a huge post about it, but it looks like a slow roll out. Can anyone confirm this?

Well Then, Looks like HTC has done their work. So I guess we are waiting for Sprint to bloat out the new release so that we can have a special sprint only widget to access Cricket scores and Ultimate Frisbee News?

Knowing that Eris now has an official update is aggravating.

Also: Why is the Eris getting an OTA, but most think the Hero will be OTW?

Sprint needs to hop on it. It's disappointing that the Motorola Droid and then now the Eris have their 2.1 when the Hero came out first. Doesn't make any sense??

For the droid getting 2.1 first, that makes sense. The Eris getting it before us, however, makes no sense. I don't care much though. I'm good with munching on a cupcake; you dont have to bite into it to get the full flavor, its deliciousness is right on the outside.

I remember reading somewhere, that Verizon had a 30 day hold so to speak on 2.1 after the Incredible release. Perhaps Verizon is going to update all their phones to 2.1 first, this might possibly explain why Sprint keeps delaying the update. Just a thought.....

So Verizon waited to sell more incredibles, and Sprint is waiting to sell more Evos? Would make sense..

It could be that Sprint needs to come up with a program (and test it sufficiently) to allow people to install the 2.1 update on their Hero's from their computer. Similar to what they had to do to get the maintenance release on the Moment for the people that couldn't get to a repair center (like my mom)

Speaking of the Moment...last week I checked the Sprint software update site for the Hero and the Moment, and it showed an update for the Moment...Clicking on the detail link provided a list of what the Moment's update included, dated February. Today, that "details" link doesn't do anything. Just wondering if this is in preperation for 2.1?

EDIT: Disregard the above info, as the "more details" link for the Moment now shows the info again, must have just been a Sprint website glitch.

That or if Verizon does have a hold on 2.1 Sprint can't update anything until the 30 days is up, therefore giving Verizon the claim that they were the first with all phones running 2.1
