I've switched to Nexus S from a blackberry as work has now enabled active sync.
And I have to say I really like it.
The stock business apps really work for me (email, calendar and contacts) but I think Google need to sort out the addons for them so users can get more overview on their work stuff.

I looked high up and low down for either a widget app or a popup app that talks to the stock email. I saw a few that work with K9 email or Enhanced email or if your phone is rooted but Im happy with the stock apps and dont want to add in others.
Ideally there should be a common widget or popup built in that shows missed calls / Emails / meetings etc in one place. Its a joke having to swipe down the taskbar to see anything.

In general exchange supported addons / wigets or popups are very scarce in the market. We have 50 Blackberrys in the company and with the cost factor Id recommend users to go for android except for the poor support for exchange adons.

But on the other hand maybe we need more weather apps. Im just not happy with the 4000 (LOL) that are in the market but not one exchange integrated notification app. For me this isnt an app developer issue its a google / android issue if they want to get some of that blackberry / enterprise market.

Something like Executive Assistant that works with Exchange in the stock email would be great.
And also better support for the exchange global address book would be nice too.
And finally a method of getting rid of having to update email password on device when my network password changes. (or at least get some notification on the phone.)

You shouldn't be so quick to judge. This very well may help you out.

It sounds like Touchdown is exactly what you are looking for. Sure it doesn't come stock, but if you need it for business it's worth the money.

Here's a link for the 30 day free trial nothing that you are going to need for work is typically free. And honestly i don't see why it's so hard to switch to Android from Blackberry. I love the notification bar it's one of my favorite parts of Android. And you seem to be complaining about it. I guess that's why everyone is different.

I looked at touchdown and yes its a fine app. But as I said in the OP Im looking for an alternative for 50 blackberries not one. So its 50 google accounts and 50 touchdown apps. Id be supporting them so the more it has out of the box the more it suits me..

Just wondering why there are 150000 apps and virtually none that add features to the stock email. Is it hard to do.

Or even a popup app that links to stock SMS, missed calls, stock email and calendar would be nice...

Maybe we need to get some of those weather app developers onto something different ......
    Questions on touchdown...

If I install it have I to configure it or will it take config from stock email thats already setup.
Do I uninstall the stock email or does it need it.
Have I to delete accounts set up in stock version.
