so how does droid start applications / services on boot...

and more importantly how to prevent some from starting?

for Win 98, XP, Win7 I use Best Free Startup Manager works like a charm - super fast... super clean...

why can't I do the same on droid?

thank you...

Within certain applications you have on your phone, there is usually an option to enable applications to start up on boot. Just disable those.

No, it's at the discretion of the user. If you have the option to enable or disable start-on-boot, how can you complain about not having control?

Your handset isn't running a Windows OS, so you shouldn't expect it to behave (or require the same maintenance) as one. :)

I bit of warning if you try to use the above mentioned app. READ A LOT. If you mistakenly prevent an essential app from running, it may cause a crash cycle of reboot.
