Why do the screens stay on when they charge up?

Mine does it too, I guess cause I have my screen set to always on.
Quick click the power button, that'll shut off the screen, at least it does for me.

Mine is set to go off pretty quickly. That changes when it's plugged in.

Yup a quick tap of the power button shuts it off. Thanks

Because when it's plugged into a charger, then power draw from the screen backlight is irrelevant.

Go to Settings>Applications>Development and untick "Stay Awake". That should keep the display from staying on when charging.
