Thanks to everyone on here that has helped me out!

I've jumped ship for the GNex.

It's kind of funny, I cracked my digitizer back in July but it continued to work, so no big deal. Well it's slowly been loosing functionality (getting dead spots) so I ordered a digitizer to do the fix myself.

Today I soft bricked my 'bolt by getting too aggressive with overclock in BAMF and foolishly selected to apply at reboot time. That would have not been bad, but I was a moron and left a PG05IMG.ZIP in the root of my SD card, so no recovery for me. I also didn't have an adapter to put the micro SD into a PC to delete the file, so now I'm stuck!

Well my wife comes home and says, you need to buy a new phone! So off to the Verizon store we go to buy a new 'bolt. Well she asks the sales guy what is the latest thing out there. He shows us the GNex and my wife says "if you want it get it."

I love my wife! :D

Hope to see some (or all) of you over in the GNex forums!

Good luck! and great excuse...

Although, you can choose to let it not install the PG05IMG (at least in my bootloader) and then can access the USB storage in recovery..

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) my bootloader has no such option. It would let me bypass installing, but then it would boot up as normal and either lock up or go into a boot loop.

Gotta say that after a while with the GNex, there are a lot of things I miss about the 'bolt. I know some here may scoff at me but I really do miss Sense. It made the phone look cooler, but also it had the Facebook integration with contacts, the preview of new texts on the lock screen, etc. I'm sure I can customize the hell out of the GNex but it will be a process to find exactly what I like. Good thing I have off until the New Year! ;)

I love hearing wife stories like that!! Too many times you hear the opposite. Glad to hear you have an understanding wife like I do! :D

Oh and good luck with the Nexus, I'll probably be getting it as soon as my upgrade is available in late January.
