Ok as I mentioned yesterday z4root doesn't work on the latest update.....

Problem solved. the answer: [APP]SuperOneClick v1.9.1 (Root, Unroot, Enable Non-Market App) - xda-developers

I personally used v1.7 but the latest version should work.

Follow the directions at How To: Root Your Android Phone (SuperOneClick Method) | TheUnlockr with these exceptions:
I had usb mass storage mounted but I'm not sure if this matters but to replicate my experience set it to usb mass storage.

When it goes to test it may fail. When you get root is installed power off the phone and restart it. There you go you have root.... well with out the ability to flash custom ROMS yet.
I suggest installing Root Checker | AppBrain Android Market to verify this...

I still have that pesky locked bootloader but now I can remove bloatware... first to go uno

Yup that's what some "generous anonymous tipster" said in this article:
Motorola CLIQ 2 Upgrade in the Works, But No Gingerbread

Gee I wonder who the tipster was ;) But I think the tipster said also said "Wheres 2.3?"

Yeah the t-mobile forum says also its not a 2.3 update.

But ill be just as happy with 2.2.2

I can't deny that this phone is hella. Awesome and incredibly faster than my samsung galaxy indulge 4g was.

If we get 2.3
I think it will make this phone a mini-monster eater.

2.3 is decent from the experience I have seen. I like the fact it has better battery life

To be honest
I use my phone pretty heavily
And I get a full day outta my battery.
I use setcpu to under clock while screens off and when the batteries lower than 25%.
I also use launcher 7
Its super lite and VERY quick. I love the UI
And I also just uninstalled the bloat.
And used stock task manager to auto end ALOT when the screen is off.
