Help Soft bricked GS6

My dad's Galaxy S6 had been giving him all kinds of problems after the nougat update. It would shut itself off randomly and refuse to boot back up until it was plugged in. I decided to just downgrade back to marshmallow with Odin, so I backed everything up and tried to flash the firmware I got from Sammobile. Odin returned "fail" with no error message. When I unplugged the phone, I got a screen reading "Software update failed. Your device didn't update properly. Use the Verizon Software Repair Assistant on a computer to repair your device and complete the update." None of the buttons do anything. The Verizon Software Update Assistant doesn't recognize the phone. I left it until the battery died to see if that would reset it, but it's still stuck on that screen. I'm guessing it's toast, but hopefully someone out there can prove me wrong.o_O

Can you get it to boot into download mode by pressing and holding the power and volume down button then volume up when prompted?

Could be a driver issue but the repair tool usually installs all the necessary USB drivers.
Did you restart your PC after you installed the repair tool? Are you using the OEM cable that came with the phone?

I restarted and now it seems to be detecting it so I guess that's progress. But the Repair Assistant only gets to about 83-84% before resetting back to 50%. It's done that about 5 times now.

Not sure what else to try.
Hopefully someone else will chime in with a solution.
I'll keep digging around and if I find something promising, I'll post.

Does the S6 have Fastboot ? You can flash the Firmware manually with "Minimal ADB & Fastboot Tools" !

But if you want i can make a Solution Video for you at the Weekend on my YouTube Channel !
