My dad's Galaxy S6 had been giving him all kinds of problems after the nougat update. It would shut itself off randomly and refuse to boot back up until it was plugged in. I decided to just downgrade back to marshmallow with Odin, so I backed everything up and tried to flash the firmware I got from Sammobile. Odin returned "fail" with no error message. When I unplugged the phone, I got a screen reading "Software update failed. Your device didn't update properly. Use the Verizon Software Repair Assistant on a computer to repair your device and complete the update." None of the buttons do anything. The Verizon Software Update Assistant doesn't recognize the phone. I left it until the battery died to see if that would reset it, but it's still stuck on that screen. I'm guessing it's toast, but hopefully someone out there can prove me wrong.
