Root Software to Root the HTC Magic

Hi

I was wondering if anyone can help as I have an HTC Magic with Android Cupcake and need to root the phone. Does anyone know where I can download the software to do this as it is quite an old version of Android?

Is it definitely the Desire? As far as I was aware, that shipped with Eclair?

cupcake? that is soo old.. and desire is last years phone..

so.. i dont see how cupcake is on the desire.

Thanks for pointing out the mistake. I was meant to say magic. Not sure why I said desire? I have an htc magic with cupcake....yes I know it's old but I would love to root the phone. If anyone can help please I will really appreciate it.
