So yesterday I received a notification for a software update on my Sprint Hero. So I of course downloaded it and Voila! A lot of the buggy issues I was having after installing 2.1 are gone. Seems they fixed the update.

    Software #: 2.27.651.5

I no longer have a huge lag when making calls and the phone is not restarting after getting on the net along with all of the other issues there were.

So I am pretty stoked right now.

I'm glad you got the update, I got sick of hanging on for the update so opted to get the HTC Desire and ebay my Hero.

So do you now have the turn by turn navigation in Google maps?

Funny story, robabobbob, I chunked my Hero (stopped using it, giving it to my mom) and straight up paid full retail for my Evo. All $483.74 for it. The things a phone not working like a phone will do...

On a related note, I was surprised by the sound quality improving almost drastically on the Evo over the Hero. And hey, guess what, no phone lag out of the box! I'm still happy I did it, though I am missing my left arm and right leg a little bit...

I glad you qualified "chunked" with an explanation, in the UK that would mean something like vomiting on it :)

No EVO option in the UK yet but I'm very happy with my Desire... for now.
