There's many people who have updated their rooted lg marquee phones and were having trouble with their phones. Some can't uninstall Superuser, others can't use features such as wifi hotspot, etc. Has anyone found a solution to reroot their phones?

You will have to hang tight. I am sure there are people trying to figure it out and as soon as they do there will be a root method available.

Though I am getting sick to death of the notifications. I've changed the file to otacerts.zip to otacerts.zip.bak, I've removed the actual file from /cache...

I have no idea what else to do. I'm still getting those insanely annoying reminders. They might go away for a bit but always come back! >_<

If you really want to get rid of it, you can disable the update notification service via AutoStarts. It's an app that can prevent apps or services from starting automatically. It's not free though. It's 0.99c.

If you can get it, run AutoStarts (this requires root by the way) and go to "After Startup" section. Disable one of the Google Services Framework entries. You will need to check each one to find the correct one. The correct one will have "com.google.android.gsf.update.SystemUpdateService$Reciever" in the description.

Disable it and reboot the phone. You will see that the update message will go away. :D

In my case, what is happening after the update is that I can delete superuser and. Also it is denied all superuser permission so I can't use none of the aplicationz for rooted phone.

I don't know why you responded/quoted my post. You already updated, thus the update notice won't appear for you.

i was getting the same thing unfortunately. If we can get that and inject cwm recovery into it, we could flash superuser and root the new update

    That would be pretty sweet..

I am at the beginning of the learning curve (obvious).

On the issue of losing root after the OTA update:
Is it correct to say the current status is: there is no way to revert back to the pre-OTA and we must wait for a new rooting exploit for the OTA updated rom?

(current sw:ZV4 (Boost mobile), rooted the phone on ZV3, no ROM backups)

That pretty much sums it up...

ZV3 - root. ZV4 from Boost - no root until a new exploit is made.

I managed to retain root though a convuluted system of rooting and updating.

    This is what I did:
    1. I rooted the phone with the old firmware (pre zv4)
    2. I then downloaded, installed, and activated SuperSU. I tested to see if it was working with Rootchecker.
    3. I then downloaded and installed OTA Rootkeeper.
    4. I backed up the root in OTA Rootkeeper and then did a temporary unroot.
    5. I updated the firmware OTA to zv4.
    6. I then restored root with OTA Rootkeeper and checked it with SuperSU.

Keep in mind that I do not have CWM installed at this time, and am using a stock recovery.

After I did all this I tried to flash CWM with no success. I believe the new firmware was denying permissions or some such thing, so remember if you choose to go this route there are some inherent problems with this. Even though this has worked for me, I would still probably hold off until there are some new exploits that are a bit more flexible. My two cents...;)

I tried it on my laptop...the output is below. Phone rebooted three times, but no root. I used the Windows version. Anyone try the Mac/Linux version?

Need someone to come park in irc n wait til bliss has time to look at it. Said person will need to be willing to allow remote access to bliss via teamviewer or ssh so he can access your phone and try various things.

Hes not said he would work on it yet, but being available and willing when he has time n is willing will greatly increase the chances he will. ;)

PM me for irc info if interested.
