I've read that people have been trying the T-Mobile APN config but it won't stick. I'm of course on the metro APN and my speeds are worse than when I had my cmda s3 . its be kool to be able to use the T-Mobile config that seems to be included Any one know why it won't stick or how to make it stick.

Just got my nexus 5 today super stoked!

It works fine for me. Make sure when you're done entering the settings, that you don't press the back button but instead press the three dot setting button on the top right and hit save. Otherwise, when you hit your back key it will delete everything you just entered.

i am interested to see how this works out. i tried this but could not make it stick either. only way i could make it stick is to delete metro and t-mobile GPRS APN. but even though i get signal, i could not get any data at all with t-mobile APN. i gave it half an hour after rebooting.

^^ did the same as @akmsr and @lona808 I've tried that also but I just end up with no data . Anyone on Metropcs nexus 5 have any advice ?

Got it to work. Delete the metro APN and the middle one that days T-Mobile. The last one st the bottom only need to be edited a little see pics below. After that data will go on and off for a Lil do a reboot and you should be fine. New speeds are tons better than before but my upload is still sucky.

The 3rd screen shot is really the only I changed to make it work. Did you also delete the other apns? Are you rooted? Becuz omni ROM give you a few better apns

The difference was omni ROM seemed to have them pre loaded. Did u reboot after seeing the it stuck?

yes many times. did not help. i would not care that much if i had a decent hspa connection. something around 5mbps. video streaming youtube would be fine then. now i get around 1.5mbps at certain hours, mostly under 1mbps. half the time speedtest fails. to get by i download the videos and watch later.

Maybe its the area you're in ? I'll keep looking into this for you.

Hi, i don't mean to disturb the rest of this post but there is an obsession plaguing my nexus. I am using a nexus 5 on metro pcs network in queens, NY and my speed tests on lte come out to less than 1mb. I dont know what else to do, i tried changing the apn settings and reboots and making a new one. Im just about hopeless and frustrated that i could get x10 the speed but arent. Please help, ide really appreciate it. Thanks and sorry to bother :)

what happens when you use the default metropcs APN?

Hey, thanks for replying. Ive had an entire day of tinkering and i manage to get up to 44 mbs but only twice and very temporarily. Metropcs apn has always tested at 0.1 mbs, tmobile lte ip6 has been best result but never solid.

Gonna keep going till i get it right and tonight im going to wipe my phone clean and flash cm11's latest nightly.

What a struggle ><

My speeds have still stayed quite horrible, despite being on the newest apn. I suspect simply bad signal in my area perhaps? And more likely work on the towers.

Would anyone be able to offer some insight, it really sucks to have bad network speeds when everyone else has amazing ones.

Solution: it was so simple but i didnt think of it, simply pull out the sim and put back in with a reboot to follow. Presto worko. Normal network speeds.
