Help Some downloaded apps won't tranfer to sd card

I am finding that some apps that I download take up too much internal storage, but when I go into "manage apps", the field to move to sd card is grayed and cannot be accessed, as if they are built-in apps. Is there another way to move them over so that I free up internal storage? I installed a 32gig sd card to avoid this.
