Some questions about the DHD (inspire)

So its either the inspire or atrix for me and im leaning towards the atrix, anyway I have some questions for you dhd owners as they are basiclly the same phone, please be honest.

1.how is the screen quality? With super Amoleds and iphone and atrix's high res screens how does the super LCD hold up? Does it look good in person? Text look good? Is it much better looking then say a 3GS?

2.Does the LED light do blue, red, yellow as well or just green and orange?

3.How is the camera quality? Wasnt impressed with the N1's camera and I here the desires was bad as well, this good?

4.How is the phone in person? Build quality? Does it feel REALLY big?

5.Will they get 2.3 officially? Beyond? And will it be supported a lot by xda devs in the future?

6.Music quality is very important to me, is the audio loud and good through headphones?

7.is the phone call quality loud and clear, another problem I had with my N1 and I eventually had to get rid of it because the call quality was too low.

8.Battery, be honest. How is it?

9.And finally how happy are you with your DHD and would you reccomend it to someone at this point in time?

Thanks in advance!

This is a DHD forum so don't expect neutral opinions! Of course we love our phones!
Pretty much all of you questions have already been answered on this forum, so try to do some effort finding them!

Cheers kroketten

1.how is the screen quality? With super Amoleds and iphone and atrix's high res screens how does the super LCD hold up? Does it look good in person? Text look good? Is it much better looking then say a 3GS?

I find it to be crisp and clear. You only notice that it's a little less clear than others when it's directly compared next to them. The screen is big, but not too big. I couldn't go to a 3.5" after using this, I would settle for 4" minimum :p It's so handy to have a large screen.

2.Does the LED light do blue, red, yellow as well or just green and orange?

Just green/orange.

3.How is the camera quality? Wasnt impressed with the N1's camera and I here the desires was bad as well, this good?

8MP, 720p recording. Big photos. Nice in general.

4.How is the phone in person? Build quality? Does it feel REALLY big?

It's weighty, but I think that having that much weight is good, it's not plasticy and feels quality. It's not too big in my opinion. If you have really small hands you might struggle a little, but it's not bad.

5.Will they get 2.3 officially? Beyond? And will it be supported a lot by xda devs in the future?

HTC is really good with updates and has a nice sense UI. I think it's likely that 2.3 will be released.

6.Music quality is very important to me, is the audio loud and good through headphones?

It's loud in headphones. External speaker is a bit small but most situations loud enough.

7.is the phone call quality loud and clear, another problem I had with my N1 and I eventually had to get rid of it because the call quality was too low.

It's very clear, and on the other end is definitely clear, my mother told me to talk quieter because it was so clear and loud! hah!

8.Battery, be honest. How is it?

This is a big factor about this phone. You've probably seen a bunch of threads complaining about it. Truth is, after a few charges it gets better. Even better if you use 'green power free' and turn USB debugging on in application settings.

9.And finally how happy are you with your DHD and would you reccomend it to someone at this point in time?

Very. I highly recommend it and would class it amongst the top smartphones on the market atm. 9/10.

My opinions are probably a little skewed, but it's as honest as I can get :D

Thank You, Main thing that worries me is battery and Screen Quality (Im sure its better then 3GS?) Im still leaning towards the Atrix but we'll see, hopefully if they come the same day I can check them out in person.

The screen quality of the Desire HD is pretty much the same as the 3gs, I would say that the DHD is just generally crisp and nice.

Also remember when purchasing, the DHD has htc sense for the user interface. Arguably the best UI on android atm.

1.how is the screen quality? With super Amoleds and iphone and atrix's high res screens how does the super LCD hold up? Does it look good in person? Text look good? Is it much better looking then say a 3GS?
It is virtually the same as 3GS. The screen is very clear and crisp especially when viewing photos and videos.
2.Does the LED light do blue, red, yellow as well or just green and orange?
Nope, only green and orange
3.How is the camera quality? Wasnt impressed with the N1's camera and I here the desires was bad as well, this good?
Yes, it is I'm am very impressed with the quality of the photos and video. Though the recording of sound in videos is a little low.
4.How is the phone in person? Build quality? Does it feel REALLY big?
It feels good since it doesn't feel like cheap plastic like other phones. At first, I am not used to it's size but now I hardly notice it.The screen is awesome, and I am not bothered by it being "too big" I'm a girl and it easy to hold, the curves on the DHD has a good ergonomics
5.Will they get 2.3 officially? Beyond? And will it be supported a lot by xda devs in the future?
I currently don't know since I don't have information on that. I do know that HTC is working on updates but it's only speculation. Not real news. The HTC news website did not publish any information about the updates.
6.Music quality is very important to me, is the audio loud and good through headphones?
Well the speakers are kinda low(for me) even with the highest volume. But I usually wear headphones, and the quality is excellent on the headphones. So the DHD is not a "boombox" type of phone. I either use my headphones or plug it into my adapter
7.is the phone call quality loud and clear, another problem I had with my N1 and I eventually had to get rid of it because the call quality was too low.
Never had any problems about call quality, phone conversations is very good. In my experience, it's the best so far.
8.Battery, be honest. How is it?
It last me about 18-20 hours with moderate to high use. I don't use any battery saver app, only USB Debugging
9.And finally how happy are you with your DHD and would you reccomend it to someone at this point in time?
Very happy with it. It is my best phone! Yes, I would always recommend the DHD.

Wow the same as the 3gs? I think I'll pass then, you'd think it being a higher res and super LCD would make it much better looking, going from captivate to 3GS was a huge downgrade (captivate broke) guess I'll wait longer as the atrix is having problems as well.

I don't know if I'd agree with that. I think my DHD has a better screen than my boyfriends 3GS. Especially noticeable when watching videos, etc.

Well I haven't done a direct comparison. My dad has a 3gs I'll compare tonight.

I think it's actually better now that I think of it. I remember on my dad's 3gs I can sort of.. see the pixels just from holding it normally, and on the DHD I can barely make them out unless I look closely.

Sorry about that folks, I initially thought that it is the same as the 3GS, since I only compared to memory. I compared it again now and it's it has a high resolution. I think I was talking about the Desire. Sorry for the mistake...
