sorry! force close

[Android Question]

I have a Samsung S2.. It keeps displaying the message Sorry! THE APPLICATION......HAS STOPPED UNEXPECTEDLY PLEASE TRY AGAIN.. FORCE CLOSE.
The problem is the messages are looped and I am unable to use the phone to get into my settings or applications to turn this off.. Please can you help me.. I was late for my kids school and could not even call from my phone.. Most upsetting..

This isn't a guaranteed fix, but on the off chance that the app causing the problem is Internet connected, try booting your phone wth the SIM card removed. Perhaps that will buy you enough time to go into Settings > Manage apps, and clear cache and data on the troublesome app.
