lol i saw that response coming. lets just say i got lucky. now all we need is someone to compile the kernel and build a 2.2 image from it :). any takers?? :)

Looks legit, I just booted into Ubuntu Linux to mess with it, I see the kernel inside, looking through credits there's LG and Intel people, their full names, addresses, I have Linux so I'll play around with it, but looks real.

I see the drivers folder and everything, I think this is it.

custom kernel booted just fine, wifi was not working, and after about 10 minutes of uptime it froze and reboot, not sure if all the correct options are set in the kernel config

Well this is epic, I think we will see Froyo in the next 1-3 days =D, the guys said they already have Froyo for the Ally build and ready to go, I'm guessing all that we need now is to take the drivers from this source and put it in Froyo.

Well i dont' know what the source includes, but if it has the drivers and all that it should just be really easy to add that to a froyo rom for the ally.

i honestly hope someone can build a froyo rom from this i would attempt to port the drivers but when it comes to compiling kernel's i am an absolute noob.

Same here I can compile my kernel in linux but thats because of MenuConfig I downloaded and it does have all the drivers, I just cant get it to compile :( but I have never tried compiling a kernel without the nice make menuconfig option

There's a Froyo ROM for the Ally thats being developed/tested, its not out to public and its VERY buggy right now, but it exists =D

  22. Well, let me know what I can do to help. Debugging and all that. Aby expected release date? Twenty bucks says it'll come out before lg's.
