I've been getting a lot of calls from country code 0063 (Philippines), 0034 (Spain) and others.
Obviously I don't answer them, and add them to my blocked caller list. I'm wondering what the scam might be.

I haven't been getting those numbers.
I have my secondary number on a lot of job sites and I've been getting spam calls from two 07909 (so mobile numers) but they must be able to disguise the number.

First one was iirc about an Amazon "overcharge" and to press #1 where an Indian sounding "gent" obviously didn't know who I was.
The more recent was with a posh but computed voice saying my Social Security number had been deleted because of something I did, I pressed 1 said nothing and they hung up.

There is a very good US channel on You Tube where this guy can run rings around these Indian centres, identify and turn the tables on them. I've only watched one so far and those guys turned nasty, but this US guy was great.

Pretty sure that is a UK guy, not a US guy.
Reason being, if we are talking about the same guy- he actually runs a virtual system and lets the scammer connect to it, then he deletes all of their files and calls them by name- although I totally agree with him, these things are highly illegal here in the US.

Yes, the government protects the scammers.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again- our phone companies are all in on it too.

They claim to not know where these calls are coming from.
How can their systems be used without this knowledge?

    They DO know.

They make big bucks off of irritated people who then pay to change numbers, and for other 'services' which in the end do nothing anyway.

Most times when you call the phone company to complain about scammers, the 'customer service' person you speak with sounds just like the scammer that just called.

I am willing to bet that they are sitting right next to one another, or are even the same person.

Does it really matter what the 'scam' is? Just block them and move on. Not worth the brain power expended on thinking about them any more than this.
