Help Spam texts coming from multiple numbers

For the past week or so I've been receiving 1 to 2 spam texts every night around 9 or 10pm. The thing is, they are coming from many different numbers but have been the same area code and prefix and the last digit has been incrementing by 1 each text.
(224) 307-6724
(224) 307-6725
(224) 307-6726

and more...Verizon can't do anything since there are so many different numbers and the same number isn't used twice. Is there a way through an app or otherwise that I can block these? Is there a reputable app I can block unknown texts or even block texts based on content such as a link to a website (which is what's in each of those texts).

The texts are all from online casinos (different ones) and are wanting me to click the link and enter a promo code for free chips. Somehow I apparently got on their advertising list though I have never done any online casino stuff and I don't give my number out. The links (google short links) actually do go to the casino websites, I typed them in on a malware analysis box I use. If anyone has any ideas, please help. It's getting annoying. I would obviously prefer a free app but am willing to pay for it if it's reputable and efficient/flexible in blocking.

My phone doesn't have anything for blocking other than a specific number. The links in the messages are always different and each lead to a different casino website. I'm looking around at different apps to be able to block messages with certain content such as having a web link in the message or something like that. Does anyone know of any good apps for that kind of filtering?

just started receiving unknown and unwanted group text messages on my Samsung S7 edge yesterday. First time this has ever happened to me. Blocked numbers but more just keep coming up. What is going on? Doesn't appear that anyone is sending messages from my phone number. these are just unwanted group nonsense texts I'm receiving. Annoying!

My guess is you have a number that used to belong to someone else and the group is still texting that old number thinking it is for the previous owner

My brother and his wife and daughter group text me, my wife, and my 2nd brother and his wife but they have an old phone number of my 2nd brother. When they send group texts, the number of the non relative/stranger keeps getting our texts and gets furious. I have to remind them they have an old number.

I received two batch texts last night from multiple numbers, one right after the other. NO TEXT at all other than the word "Stop" under each msg. Can't find anything on this by Google search. I have not responded. There were no links, just multiple unrecognized phone numbers from around the country. Each number had the same first 3 digits following the area code, and that 3 digits matches my phone's first 3 digits after area code. Any ideas??
P.S. I am NOT a "lurker" -- just a user who signed up here in hopes of getting info on this issue. Thanks.

Hello there and welcome!
Depending on your device model and carrier, and the messaging app you are using, you may be able to just block those numbers.
Along with the increased spam calls that are on the rise, spam texts are now on the rise unfortunately :(
Are you able to choose those texts and block them?

Don't worry about that title under your name. That is just the forum default title given to newer members :) Kinda creepy if you ask me though. :p

My guess is someone is spoofing your mobile number to send out text spam and the messages you are getting are from people who got the spam and (probably to appear legitimate) the message included text to the effect of "if you no longer want to receive these messages, reply 'STOP'". You might want to reach out to one or two to see if that's the case so THEY can report the original message to their carrier.

Or it could also be legitimate promotions whose development team made a typo in the reply to link.

Thanks--my own policy is if I don't recognize a number, I let it go to VM. If no msg is left, it's not worth my time. But, receiving two batches of phone numbers, all with prefix 260 (not area code) clearly is suspicious looking. None left any msg. I blocked them. Anyone important will find some legit way to contact me. Thanks each of you who responded.

I look forward to learning more from your site and your app!
