Help speech to text on text messages

When I try to dictate a text message on my Optimus V I get gibberish on the screen. When I use the text to speech for other functions such as google it works fine. Any thoughts as to a cure?

Did the same thing with me in the beginning. Everything was coming out in some weird Spanish/hybrid language. Then I found out that you have to train it. First, make sure you have a Google/Gmail account (which I'm sure you do by now). Then, do a few test Google voice searches (the Google search widget on your phone). Doesn't have to be anything specific -- it's just so the software can recognize your voice. Do it a few times, and that should work. Then you can use it for texts, writing notes, etc. The more you use it, the better it gets, but it's not always perfect. I use it occasionally, and it is convenient, though not 100% accurate.
