Hi I'm a new Android user (Sprint Epic) and this is my first post...so hi!

I have used the speedtest app before with no problems. I'm in San Francisco. But speedtest thinks I'm in Wichita KS and only offers servers in that part of the country. Interestingly, I did make and receive voice calls today to and from a friend in Wichita.

GPS and WiFi are active in the Epic, and Maps has the location correct. But speedtest doesn't.

Any idea what caused this, and how to fix it?

try a battery pull, and maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Are you using it over WiFi or mobile data. Because if you are using it over WiFi your ISP might be doing some weird routing that might give you false locations.

Running a speed test app doesnt really read your GPS on the front side. Its dependednt on where the data is routed thru Sprint. Sprint has a headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas. So its likely the data was being routed there and the speedtest app thinks thats where its originating from.

Thanks folks for your suggestions. I was using Speedtest app over 3G. I switched to wifi and the server switched to local server. Went back to 3G and server stayed local. Go figure.

    Anyway, problem solved I guess.
