My EVO had the MikG splash screen on this morning and the battery was warm to touch. Only a battery pull stopped it. I normally leave the phone on and plug it in to recharge during the night, and this is the first time this has occurred The phone SEEMS to be functioning OK now. (Interestingly, when it rebooted, the brightness was at 100% - I normally keep it at about 30%.)

    Any thoughts what happened?? Thanks!

Not sure of what's going on with that sounds interesting. Let's see if it happens again. Battery being hot sounds like a service not shutting down like it should.

I've experienced problems with MikG's 2.61 ROM (battery getting warm, lagging on some apps, complete loss of the lock screen <~ only fixed by pulling the battery and booting into recovery and restoring a different back up). I just went back to MikG 2.59. It was the best for me and still is especially with the Golden Monkey kernel. I use it even more than CM7 with the Tiamet kernel.

Hmmm, the list of bugs you just posted sound like a bad flash. Those are common when a Rom download gets a little off, or a wipe wasn't good enough.
Are you using clockwork mod recovery?

I haven't flashed anything since MikG 2.61 patch became available - weeks ago. (I first wiped Cashe & Dalvik Cash twice.) For recover I use RA Recovery 2.3
