Root [Sprint/Cricket] Import contacts and Messages??

Hello all and thank you for your help in advance!

I rooted, then installed Cyanogenmod 10 (M2) on my Samsung GS3. Before I installed Cyanogenmod 10, I did a backup through Kies. Is there any way of importing my contacts and messages? I know that after using a different ROM Kies can not be used.

Did you back the contacts up with Google/Gmail?
