check it out! here
people actually read the user guides???
Yes, this guide I'm reading. I may even read it twice before Friday.
eh.. why not?
its a new OS (to me) - will be nice to be able to actually use it when i get it!
i will be scanning though this myself. If I or anyone comes across some cool or interesting things please post in this thread.
someone already noted "mobile network sharing" ("tethering" by another name)
see pg 108 (or type in 118 in the PDF page number)
^ Thats good to know. Will come in handy in case my 4g modem dies on me.
Heres hoping Sprint doesnt strip it out.
Well if they take it out then theres always PDAnet.
I would LOVE to be able to turn a Hero into a mobile wireless hot spot, using Wifi Tether. I sure hope this is doable on Sprint's Hero.
Something I've noticed in all the videos I've watched on this device, and I've just noticed the same thing on page 3 (pdf page 12) in the Quick Start Guide.
Is it just me, or is the mic hole off-center just a hair to the left?
I am genuinely excited for you all waiting on this handset.
I think the mods should sticky an official "unboxing now" thread for you all.
haha! yeah - a lot of phones are like that! i've noticed that!
i think the way sound works, an inch one way or the other doesn't produce any noticeable difference - but you'd think you'd want it on the centerline so that a call while holding it to your right ear or left ear would be the same huh?
(gee.. maybe just a lil OCD there??)
If all else fails you can root your phone and do this. My friend on Sprint did this and so did I on my Google Ion on T-mobile, it's pretty sweet.
There have been concerns that Sprint may have made it harder to root. I wonder if there's any truth to this...?
I reckon we'll know the answer to that in 12hrs or so.
Yes, I sure hope so! In fact... I hope somebody tries it right away. If it's rootable, I think I'll try to buy it this weekend.
I thought it was Google that made it harder to root.
I may be wrong. That could be it.
