If anyone plans to upgrade to the 3VO, you can get a loyalty service credit for extending your contract ($45-$70).

Get an extra account credit before upgrading to the HTC EVO 3D

I can confirm that this is true since I upgraded myself (although I'm not activating until bootloader is unlocked) and received a $50 loyalty credit. Go get that free money folks!

Thanks for the info! I upgraded my device on Friday 6/24 to the Evo 3D, but didn't know about this before hand. I wonder if they'll still give me this loyalty credit for extending my contract another 2 years??

I've read some people have had varying results, where the promotion is for $70 credit, however some people get $70, some get $50, and some have even gotten $45.

Can anyone else post their outcome?

    1) Did you call for the credit BEFORE or AFTER you renewed your contract?
    2) How much were you able to have applied to your account?

    Thanks!

Not sure how, but they are not budging with me. I have a 3d... and now I have a full upgrade eligible - but they wont budge... should I be talking to SALES or who?

I had a similar issue, customer service doesn't have a clue ever about anything. So I asked to talk to someone in the Retention Department. I got a bill credit for a free month's service ($130 roughly) AND got the upgrade date on my 2nd line reset to be eligible now instead of in 12 months.

I got this person on the line, and said I have friends who were offered the $70 Loyalty credit applied to their account for renewing their contract. The rep looked it over for a bit, then let me know that it is only for customers with 11 months or less remaining on their contract. I was at 12 months, so she said she couldn't do it now but could in another month.

I said I would like to talk to someone about having it credited now instead of waiting, because I wanted to upgrade to the Evo 3D and didn't want to wait a month to do this (note they apparently aren't aware that I already upgraded my device on Friday 6/24).

She came back and said if I'm looking at upgrading, then she would reset my upgrade date on my 2nd line (which is currently 12 months out and is my brother's line, I already upgraded my line on Friday 6/24) to be eligible now, and once I buy a new device I can call customer service back and they will give me a credit for 1 month service (I'm on a family plan, so that is about $130).

Key lesson I think is Customer Service reps rarely know what they're talking about, and most often don't have the ability to do anything. So talk to someone in Retention. Don't be an a-hole, but be persistent.

I called after I renewed and received $50 which basically got me my 3VO for free. I haven't activated it and don't plan on activating it until the bootloader gets unlocked. I called general customer service line and spoke to the account specialists. It literally took me all of 5 minutes. The guy put me on hold for a sec and came back and was like ok we'll be crediting your account for $50, thanks for choosing Sprint.. bye! lol

You had good luck with customer service! It's luck of the draw as to what rep you get, some are more willing to do things (or knowledgeable) where others aren't and simply say they can't do anything. That's been my luck, every time I get a hold of customer support they can't resolve most issues, so I need to ask for a supervisor or else someone in Customer Retention. You can get lucky by getting a solid costumer service rep that knows their stuff, but I seem to get people where I talk to them for 30 minutes and get nowhere.

I was surprised that I was basically willing to accept $50 or $70 credit, but they said since I was over 11 months out from renewal that they couldn't do it. I told them about others, and they said sorry we can't do it. But they did offer to bump up the upgrade date on my 2nd line (which gives me an upgrade about 8 months early!) and in addition, they offered to give me a credit for one free month's service (my bill is about $130/month on a family plan).

So instead of just giving me $50, they offered to give me an upgrade PLUS $130. I wasn't going to argue once they offered to do that lol ;)
