Hi all. I know this is a Spint forum but is there much difference between Sprint and any other CDMA carrier. I am currently with C Spire which is also CDMA and I'm looking for source for information about rooting and flashing custom roms on my HTC One. I won't be doing it right now because of warranty purposes.

I guess my main concern is will the info I find for the Sprint HTC One suffice for my C Spire HTC One. I assume the process is the same for all cdma phones as it was with previous devices I have used. (HTC hero & HTC desire "bravoc")

I haven't found any info from other c spire HTC one users that have ventured into rooting or flashing the device as of yet.

Any info would be great.

Thanks
Brandon

Many carriers have differences in their HTC ONE.
Sprint is different from Verizon and both different from international versions.
You will need to research what ever carrier you go with.
You can brick your device flashing non compatible files.
I can't tell you much more than that. Just read up before you do anything.

If your handy with adb/fastboot commands can you give me your results from
fastboot getvar all
please remove your IEMI and Serial No from the results
Then i can help you locate the correct info for your device.

Here you go. Thanks for your help.

your devices shares the important bits(model ID and product ID) with the sprint one,so id feel pretty safe in recomending to use sprint info and downloads.

i would strongly recomend to make a backup of your un-rooted stock rom before adding superuser access(but after adding a custom recovery) as there is likley no RUU for your somewhat unusual version.

another potential prollem you will have is finding a stock recovery you can use to make the phone stock again, should you need to. im not 100% sure that a sprint recovery would work,if you needed the phone to OTA.

before doing anything,id recomend to find any ruu that you can for your carrier. anything with the "563" in it: x.xx.563.x

i can help you search later, but im off to work for now :(

(bootloader) version-main: 3.04.563.3 _>> Unknown Not Sprint
(bootloader) version-misc: PVT SHIP S-ON ->> Needs S-off before going any further

(bootloader) product: m7_wls ->> Same as Sprint

(bootloader) modelid: PN0720000 ->> Same as Sprint
(bootloader) cidnum: UTSI_005 ->> Unknown ??

Based on the above info ..if you can get s-off with rumrunner you may be able to do some stuff with the phone but the way it now stands your really taking a chance because their is no way back to stock except with your own backup (with custom recovery).

Yes the phone is a Sprint variant and all the sprint roms and root tools should work just fine. Just be carefull and make a backup and store it on your PC (Not on the Phone)
