I am currently on TMobile and thinking of jumping to Sprint for the Evo. However, I currently have a no contract plan on Tmobile (I payed full price for the phone). Does Sprint offer something similar? Can I buy the Evo for $500 and just go month to month on a plan?

No. If you want no contract with Sprint, they'll refer you to their Boost Mobile and Wal-Mart sold Common Cents plans. Different phones for those services too (not Evo).
