General Sprint Shoppers - Call And Ask

    I'm new to Android. I just upgraded my Palm WebOS device and ordered my Note II from Sprint about an hour ago. But I've been lurking here for weeks and learned much from reading through the posts from all the great members. So I hope to give back to the community where I can.

    I've been out of contract for over a year but like the deal I get from Sprint so I called them up tonight and asked what they could do for me. The important thing is to go through the menu choices until you get to connect to the Cancel Your Service line. You don't wait long in the queue (my wait was no more than 30 seconds) and you get to speak to a retention specialist. Sprint is trying to keep customers, not lose them. The rep said he couldn't lower the price of the phone or waive the $36 Upgrade fee but after I told him I wanted to stay loyal to Sprint and upgrade but that I could go elsewhere he told me he could apply a separate $100 credit to my account. The credit showed up in my account in less than a half hour and the rep sent me an email confirmation as backup. So, even though they are holding the line on the phone price and upgrade fee, I got $100 in my account to partially offset the cost of upgrading.

    Don't know if this will work for anyone else but it's worth a try. Just be nice and say you are shopping around but would rather stay loyal and see what they will do for you. Good luck.
