Sprint stores opened early for the Pre - will they for EVO?

We all should keep our eyes and ears open to info regarding what time Sprint stores will openon June 4th. When the Palm Pre launched last year, Sprint planned on being open late at nigt the night before launch day...but for some reason, those plans got canceled last minute. But they DID open their stores at 8am, two hours earlier than normal. Will they do the same for the EVO? No word from Sprint yet, but those who plan on buying directtly from a Sprint store should keep keen on the idea that Sprint stores may open early on June 4th. :)

So is there any reason to buy from Sprint aside from being able to charge your monthly account and the feeling of excitement waiting outside for it?

^ Not that I can think of. It might be less likely they would mess up ones discounts/credits they may have on their account. I pre-ordered mine at Radio Shack and don't anticipate any problems in that regard, though.

If you don't have the premiere account then it's cheaper to go to the Sprint store and get the $75 off of the $450 retail price that was mentioned in their e-mail compared to the Best Buy rumors. That's why I'll be at the store.

^ That's rigt! I pointed that out in another thread and forgot about that. Also, if Sprint opens early at 8am that's one hour earlier than Radio Shack and two hours earlier than Best Buy.

I went to my local Sprint store this evening and was told that they WOULD be open 1 hour earlier than normal on June 4th.

So yes, 8:00AM.

My local Sprint store says they're opening at 8am, also. Just a heads up for those who are buying directly from Sprint. Call your local store and ask.

Most Sprint stores will open early unless they have some property or other related restriction.

Why buy from a Sprint store - lots of people want to have it purchased and set up at an "official" location that's nearby and are ok with fewer discounts/perks if they can just go back to that location if they have problems. Some will buy from Sprint just because they're in the store to buy a phone and just happen into the Evo. And some will buy from a Sprint store so they can get the accessories and everything set up exactly the way they want it.

It's a personal choice. Not one meant for getting the best value.

I just received a phone call from my local BB, where I had the #1 pre-order position. They scheduled me to come in at 8am to pick up my EVO on the 4th.

Edit: Just realized I posted in the wrong thread...apologies.

If inventory is low, this might be the best place to get one. That, and my friend is a Sprint employee at a store and I'm guaranteed one. :)

I've always though Sprint not pre-selling at Sprint stores was designed to get some supply and the crush out to other retailers but have people desparate then just make the quick stop at a Sprint store to get the Evo-fix. Why not have BB and RS tell people "we're out" than a Sprint store, especially if Sprint has sent large inventory to Sprint retail locations?

Last year I was there at the pre launch the night before and hopefully will be there for the evo launch the night before even if the store is not open LOL

I will be buying from the Sprint store to get the 30 day guarantee. When I read the fine print on that, it said you had to purchase from a Sprint store for full retail. I want to make sure I can return everything if Sprint doesn't have coverage where I need it.

I was looking at Sprint stores near me, and there appears to be several different stores.

"Sprint Store By United Cellular"

"Sprint Store By The Customer Center"

"Sprint Store"

Does it matter which one? Is one better than the other?

I am trying to figure out which one to call to see if they open at 8am.

Thanks!

Those that do not urrently qualify for the $150 off discount for upgrades get $75 off the full retail price.

So if you are buying the Evo off contract for the $450 price you automatically get $75 off, making it $375? Just want to make sure I'm understanding you. Is this for everyone or only certain customers?

That $75 off is if you are willing to sign a 2 year contract and took your previous upgrade at least 12 months ago.

Sprint store in downtown Seattle (Union St.) will be opening one hour early at 8 am.

Sprint store in downtown Seattle (Westlake mall) will be opening one hour early at 9 am.

FWIW, I was told in a Sprint on line chat this morning you would be able to place orders on line at 12:00 am EDT June 4. I'm assuming that means 9 pm PDT June 3. Delivery is 2-5 business days.

FWIW, this morning a Sprint phone rep said they will take phone orders at 7 am EDT June 4. (May be able to get next day delivery by paying for it.)
