First, does it work with our phone?
Second, is there any reason not to get one, since they're free?
It should work for any android device with a headphone jack
I have one, but never used it.
To double check, download the square app from the market. If its not compatible you wont be able to download it
Did you order it free from their site by just entering your info?
And they sent it? And you never used it?
No problems with the fact you haven't used it?
Yup from their website. Its free
When did you order it?
And they won't try to charge you or anything if you don't actually use it?
No, its completely free. Got it from the website like 8 mo ago
Cool then I may get one just to have one.
I signed up to the forum to answer this. I've had a Lucid for almost a year now and use Square, and as of June of 2012 the Square App -works-, but you cannot swipe a card with it, you have to enter the numbers manually. I contacted Square back then and they said eventually it will be supported, and since June 2012 there has been at least 2-3 Square updates since then.
So it's possible that swiping cards works now but I honestly haven't used Square since that time. Just know that the app will work even if the phone is not supported for swiping.
I just got 2 Samsung Galaxy Proclaim phones. We have a Square CC Reader. We have not used it as of yet. I will download th app for it to my phones. I have another question does anyone use the Kindle Fire for their Square CC Reader?
